
The success of the covers has been obvious and the idea has been taken up by a number of Police force areas including Norfolk, Essex, Devon and Cornwall and Dyfed Powys. A benefit of the design is the ability to easily change logos, colours and markings for different geographical locations allowing for pride by owners and quick identification to observers.
The project and the cover design were so successful that they were entered into the annual Home Office Tilley Awards. These awards champion the best multi agency projects across the UK that use problem solving to reduce crime and to make communities safer. The project was successful and won the Eastern Region nomination. These awards recognise innovative crime fighting projects which this cover clearly was.
